Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to offer this beautiful 1962 Ford Thunderbird in Corinthian White with a stunning Red interior. Fords crown jewel of the 1950s and 1960s was the Thunderbird, which was nicknamed by collectors the T-bird . This third generation of Thunderbird was produced by Ford during the production years of 1961-1963. This car was redesigned in the year of 1961 which gave the silhouette a bullet-like body side appearance. The body style of the 1962 T-birds has very subtle tail fins that were part of the stylish upper body panel crease on each side of the car that started from the front end and ended above the rear taillight area. The aerodynamic streamlined front end of this model year gave the impression that it was made for high speeds, and was complimented by the perfectly round rear taillights that personified the jet age of this era. The engine of the third generation Thunderbirds were also upgraded since the previous rendition, moving from a 352ci V8 to a 390 ci V8. This larger, stronger, and heavier engine was well received, and offered 300 horsepower and backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. The third generation Thunderbird did not fit into any of the automotive classifications at the time, it was not a performance car and it was not the typical conventional luxury car. It was something in between. The Thunderbird had plenty of engine power under the hood, but it was a medium sized car with a heavy weight of 4,200 lbs. This gave the T-bird a nice luxury car ride, and an overall feel that it floated on air when cruising down the highway or in the neighborhood streets. This 1962 T-Bird comes with a large amount of collectible original paperwork, including the original dealership manual, shop manual, dealership brochure, registered owners manual, and original Thunderbird post cards.
