Seller's comments about 1948' Ford Truck V8 - Truck
Ford V8 Truck - Tractor Unit 1948 This is the sale of my 1948 Ford V8 truck.
History: The Truck New was built in the Ford Factory in Co. Cork, Ireland. The Truck new was bought by Louth County Council as a Truck with a tar trailer (trailer scrapped many years ago) The Truck then went into a private Ford Collection where restoration was started. It is 90% complete. A tax book for the truck can be acquired through the Ford V8 Club.
Engine: the truck has been fitted with the "French" Ford V8 engine that came out of a vacuum sealed box. The original engine for the truck is present but would require full rebuild.
Interior: The seat covering has been replaced and the headlining but the headlining has sagged.
Body: The cab as been painted red and there NO RUST at all present on the cab.
Electrics: The truck rewiring has been started but this is where the work is required to get the truck on the road.
I have come across a trailer that may (with adoptions) if the truck and it is included in the sale if anyone wants it.
This is a simple project that would make an A1 truck when complete. I am selling because i have too many projects on the go.
**I have a lot more photos of the truck but cannot upload them so I am happy to email them or answer any questions.
