HRG 1500 Aerodynamic, year 1947. Chassis number W106. Colour dark British Racing Green. Interior with brown leather seats. This rare and wonderful HRG 1500 Aerodynamic was sold new in the United Kingdom to a Mr. Hartford in Fawley. The full history of the car is known and documented (history documented by Ian Dussek historian of the HRG Association). In the early 1960s the car was restored to original specifications. After restoration, W106 competed in events and meetings such as the Griffith Formula for Historic cars. In the 1990s a second restoration was started by the 5th owner Mr. Halfpenny. The mechanical components (engine, gearbox, rear axle, chassis) were overhauled by Roundwood Ltd in Harpenden UK. Mr. Halfpenny sold the car as an unfinished project in 2017, the new owner had the restoration completed in 2019. This rare automobile is in an excellent condition with a wonderful vintage patina. This HRG shows all the original details, and it drives and handles delightfully! The HRG 1500 Aerodynamic is a special and rare automobile, only 45 examples were built from 1945 until 1949, 20 cars are known to still to exist. This automobile shows many interesting engineering and design details. The petrol tank is located under the left front wing and the spare wheel finds pride of place under the right front wing. The leather clad dashboard looks very impressive with a four-spoke Brooklands style steering wheel, seven chrome bezel gauges and an array of switches. The car is fitted with wider 19-inch wire wheels shod with classic style Michelin tyres. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a super rare and special HRG 1500 Aerodynamic!
