Seller's comments about 1936' International Harvester Pickup C1
A rare International C1 1/ 2-ton truck is offered. This handsome pickup was a resounding success for the IHC company in the mid-1930s. The C1 matched the fashion of the era exactly and, in just three years, nearly 80, 000 units were sold.Today this popular model is little known to many vintage-car enthusiasts, has become very rare and is hardly ever offered for sale. This once-popular "Working-Horse" was used, driven and worn down in daily operation. Only a few examples have survived to date. Then as now, the attractive styling of this US classic impresses: the rounded fenders have a hint of Art Deco (clamshell "Muschelschalen" front fenders). The V-shaped grille in body colour recalls a pointed radiator and the inclined windscreen emphasises the dynamic appearance. The C1 sat in the affordable price segment and is sparsely equipped. The six-cylinder inline engine develops 78 bhp and the three-speed transmission is solid. This model was already offered with a hydraulic braking system. This specimen has healthy sheet metal. The loading floor is clean and the wooden side rails increase practicality once again. In the middle of the dashboard sit two distinctive round gauges. The doors are also metal-lined on the inside and painted in the body colour. Under the continuous black leatherette bench seat there is a small additional storage space. The original nameplates are still present. The last owner (in Germany) owned the car for an astonishing 27 years according to the vehicle papers. The car comes with German vehicle papers, an MOT (valid until 03/ 2028) and an H-approval certificate.Viewings by appointment are welcome.More classics in stock. We also inform about our new arrivals on Instagram: klassischefahrzeugemarioengels and - details above
