Series 1Supplied new to GermanyEx Compiano CollectionOur Series 1 E-Type was manufactured on December 31, 1963, and delivered to its first owner in January 1964 via the then German Jaguar importer, Peter Lindner. The Jaguar Heritage Certificate is available. The first owner is said to have been a high-ranking American soldier who took the E-Type with him to the USA some time later.By the mid-1990s at the latest, the Jaguar returned to Europe, more precisely to Italy. In Italy, it belonged for a long time to Luigi Compiano, a prominent collector who maintained one of the largest collections in the country with over 400 vehicles.Compiano commissioned a comprehensive restoration for approximately €100, 000 (documents are available) and had the Series 1 E-Type restored to excellent technical and visual condition.During the restoration, the car was also upgraded with sports bucket seats, Dunlop style rims (D-Type), triple Weber twin carburettors with open intake and improved exhaust manifolds. The light grey paint chosen at the time fits very well with the sporty character of the vehicle. In the collection, the E-Type was well-maintained but rarely driven; therefore, even today, it still gives the impression of being a freshly restored vehicle. The car has been back in Germany since 2021 and has been prepared for registration here (full inspection, H-license plate, etc.).
