The car was a 'private export delivery' and, as such, was registered in the United Kingdom (under the number HWK 415D) just before its delivery on 18 July 1966. Restored in 2015, a job entrusted to a team of professionals specialised in vehicle reconditioning. We asked this company to return the Type E to a perfect original condition, with no compromise in the search for perfection. The bodywork was stripped and completely renovated, then repainted in British Racing Green and reupholstered in tan leather. All essential components were rebuilt to original or better standards, while parts such as interior trims, mountings, head gasket, wiring, bearings, etc. were replaced with new parts supplied by UK or German specialists. Seat belts and head restraints were added, as was a stainless steel exhaust. The engine underwent a complete overhaul, including the installation of new main crankshaft bearings.
