Seller's comments about 1968' Jaguar E-Type
Introduced with a 3.8 liter engine in 1961, the Jaguar E-Type caused a stir when it first appeared, with instantly classic lines and a top speed of 241 km/h!
Its design owes a lot to that of the racing D-Type: with a monocoque chassis, which forms the main structure with a spatial tubular structure extended forward to support the engine, this feline really looked like a Le Mans prototype!
The first significant update occurred in October 1964 with the launch of the 4.2-liter version, which we present here. With a larger, more powerful engine and a revised gearbox. The top speed remained unchanged, but the engine now had more torque and livelier acceleration. The cooling system has also been revised, making it more usable at an urban pace.
This unit, in the classic British Racing Green color with light green leather upholstery, is in excellent condition and represents a great investment opportunity. It has undergone a meticulous restoration and maintains the original engine and gearbox (matching numbers).
