Capots Vintage, specialist in sports and classic vehicles in Lyon, offers for sale a 1969 Jaguar Type E Series 2:The model we are offering here is a very fine example of the Jaguar Type E, in its Series 2 coupé 2+2 factory configuration, factory-delivered in November 1969, easily accommodating four passengers aboard this great British classic.Its coachwork was fully restored in 2016 by a specialist, in strict accordance with its original configuration, including its period Willow Green paint which gives it timeless elegance.The interior has also benefited from particular care, with the seat upholstery, the dashboard trim and a rebuilt soft top in 2021, while the other elements remain original and are in very good condition. Several discreet but radical upgrades were made to optimise its everyday use: the car is fitted with power steering, a triple SU carburettor ramp (very rare and incomparable with the 2 Strombergs), front Zeus brake calipers with twin pistons and discs, electronic 123 ignition, as well as an alternator and an electric fan.The Jaguar Heritage certificate confirms that the exterior Willow Green and the Suede Green interior are in keeping with the original configuration (matching colours), as does the original engine (matching numbers).Regularly serviced by professionals, this car has always benefited from meticulous maintenance: oil changes, regular greasing, recent replacement of the rear discs – a technical operation requiring the complete dismantling of the IRS rear suspension – as well as the fitting of four new Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres.The car comes with a complete file of invoices and photos tracing the restoration steps.More photos and videos on request.
