Seller's comments about 1973' Jaguar E Type V12

This car was entirely original, owned by me since 1975. Mileage 86,600. Always carefully maintained and kept in tidy order. It was Zeibarted from new, and re-done with corrosion preventative every year, so was rust free. The original paint had suffered stone chipping in vulnerable areas, and become worn on the edges. A bare metal re-spray was arranged at Jules Bodycraft, of Brewood Road, Coven. Staffs WV9 5DA. The car was dismantled to enable a bare metal paint strip and re-finish. The car was returned with a new MOT. Much of the original perfectly serviceable I interior trim had been removed and replaced with poor quality pattern or damaged original parts. The brakes failed completely. A loud noise came from the rear. There were serious problems with the suspension. It was found that the original differential had been substituted for a non limited slip unit of the wrong ratio, possibly from an XJ-S. Some repairs have been undertaken in order to make the car at least driveable, it is not currently roadworthy. Some damages were recovered in Wolverhampton County Court from the Gautiers, proprietors of Jules Bodycraft. Several times that amount had been spent, in addition to the £50,000 paid to them for the re-spray. The car car really needs to be dismantled again in order to make it safe and roadworthy. The original parts substituted have not been returned, as directed in the Court Order. Because it is so distressing for me to even look at the vehicle it is now for sale.
