Seller's comments about 1962' Jaguar Mk2 3.4
I have had Jaguars since the 1970's and enjoyed this 3.4 for the last two years or so. I have worked on it to make it reliable and its one to drive rather than show. It has been on many long sunny day journeys and is very pleasant to drive.
It had a shell repaint in 2006 by previous owner. The paint is high gloss lacquer finish but with some blemishes here and there so not perfect. The chrome is good, some excellent some average for age. The wood is original but still excellent gloss. The carpets and correct under felts have been replaced including new in the boot. The leather has the wonderful old patina, I bathed it in leather oil over the winter so quite subtle. Black oiled and black waxed underneath, there has been welding repairs done to chassis. Now has very good over winter rebuilt brakes, new fluid etc with small upgrade to front braking.
Stainless steel sports exhaust so sounds wonderful with twin cam six on song. All dash gauges work except clock. All dash and interior lights work including a red one in the boot. Heater works well with new parts (and improvement mods from experience ! )Moss gear box and overdrive makes for classic Jaguar sporty or cruising driving. Original heavy aluminium fuel cap. Long MOT. Very good tyres. Spare wheel is also same chrome spokes with very good tyre. Engine oil and filter, gearbox and rear axle oils and antifreeze recent.
Kept in our garage with several other classics. One to drive and enjoy or improve for enhancing value.
