1938' Jaguar Ss 3.5 Litre Drophead Coupe

This pre-war 1938 SS 3.5 Litre DHC ‘Drophead Coupe is unique. This car was sold under the name S.S from 1937 to 1940. After the Second World War the S.S. name, short for Williams Lyons Swallow Sidecar Company, was dropped in favour of the better-known name of Jaguar. After the war the S.S. 3.5 Litre went back into production as the Jaguar 3.5 Litre DHC also known as the Mk V / IV. Built before the change of name this car is a Pre-War S.S. and not a Jaguar. Overall only 241 of the S.S. Drophead were built, all of which were RHD. More recently this SS has been fully overhauled and restored. It has a black finish in combination with a grey leather interior trim and chrome wire wheels. The fine bodywork is nice and straight with lovely chrome decorative strips. The completely rust-free underbody is as good as new. The cars lovely interior has been well looked after and has a very nice wooden dashboard and accents. There are a number of, for its time revolutionary, features such as the toolkit fitted in to the boot lid, the mechanical indicators, a folding front windscreen and a hood that can be configured into three positions; closed coupe style, half open Targa style and fully open as convertibl
