Delivered new to a Dr JM Hendry of Glasgow in January 1951., interestingly he was in the Highland Light Infantry and served with distinction throughout the war.
This original right hand drive XK120 roadster is in extremely fine order throughout, having been subject to a thorough restoration. It has competed and completed numerous European rallies, it has trophies and it is documented in the comprehensive history file.
Finished in black with biscuit and red leather, upholstery, notably these were it's original colours. It retains the steel wheels and spats. A very rare and desirable combination in terms of 120 specification. It has full weather equipment, including a recent tonneau cover.
This is a matching numbers car, it retains its original engine, gearbox, back axle and body, it obviously has a Jaguar heritage certificate.
A chassis up restoration was undertaken approximately 10 years ago to a very high standard, this is fully documented and was also featured in the JDC magazine.
It has been fitted with electric power steering, disc brakes and a high ratio final drive.
In October 2021 it was serviced and set up by Guy Broad Jaguar, including electronic ignition, and a carburettor rebuild, totalling a little over £2k
It is Mille Miglia eligible, and all the other far more enjoyable European events also!!!
This is a proven and utterly reliable example, it is quick and drives beautifully.
