We are excited to offer this 1951 Jaguar XK120, owned by one owner since 1973, in need of recommissioning. Offered from the collection of a deceased estate, CFB 425 is one of 1170 genuine UK RHD examples built to OTS specification. The car was purchased by the late Geoffrey Plaister in 1973 to add to his varied private collection, where it remained until his passing few years ago. The car was uncovered in a “barn-find” state in an old shed, where it had become a rather elegant home for a number of birds over the years, and has since been displayed in The Great British Car Journey Museum before going on the market. This example is a fully complete, matching numbers car, showing 81, 000 miles, which is now in need of a cosmetic restoration and a mechanical overhaul to bring it back to what it once was. Its original colour was a dark blue over dark blue interior, and while retaining the original interior, it has unfortunately suffered a rather below par paint job. The body itself however, appears to be in a very good shape still, and the underside is relatively untouched and tidy. The interior remains unrestored and original, and while still very usable, its age and use are visible, presenting a rather authentic patina appearance. The original blue hood also displays this lovely patina, and is still very much functional. The original tool kit is also still with the car. Following a light recommissioning by ourselves, the car runs and drive, however very noticeably requires a mechanical overhaul to have it running smoothly again due to it going unused for a large amount of time. Unfortunately there is a very limited history file with the car, made up of the V5C and Heritage certificate. Viewings by appointment only.
