Offered here is a, US delivered, matching numbers, LHD 1956 Jaguar XK140 FHC, and originally fitted with the very elusive Borg-Warner Automatic 3-speed box. 934 XWA is offered as a fully running restoration project, driven over from Rotterdam by its current owner in 2023, however unfortunately never finishing the work. This XK140 is an excellent base for recommissioning as the body and underside are in a great condition with no need for work, however it would most certainly require a total interior restoration and mechanical overhaul in areas. Commonly, most cars originating from the southern states of America were found to be in similar conditions when returning to their home country due to the dryer, warmer climates. The car starts and runs, and drives without fault, managing to pass a MOT last year with no advisories. The work that the current owner managed to complete included: a brand new SU fuel pump and pipes, new brake cylinders, electronic ignition and new plugs, and a new 12v battery. However, there are a couple of small noticeable issues including the starter motor performing slightly erratically, fuel gauge not working properly and a slight transmission leak. With the car are also the set of rear spats, and interior carpets. It has been UK registered, therefore it has a V5C and also has a Jaguar Heritage certificate confirming it has matching numbers. Unfortunately there is no prior history to its repatriation. This XK140 presents an excellent opportunity for a project with a lot of potential to be an exceptional car. Viewings by appointment only.
