Capots Vintage, specialists in sports and classic cars in Lyon, are offering for sale a 1958 Jaguar XK150 SE Convertible:We are pleased to present a superb Jaguar English-convertible.Ten years after the introduction of the first XK, the XK120, and the XK140, Jaguar unveiled in May 1957 the ultimate version of the range: the XK150. Its styling was softened, and the windscreen became a single curved plane. The model we present is a Jaguar XK150 SE (Special Equipment) Convertible four-seater, equipped with a 3. 4-litre six-cylinder engine developing 210 bhp and the overdrive option. This vehicle was first registered new in September 1958 in Paris by the official importer Royal Elysée. It stands out for its exceptional specification, its pristine condition and its full matching-numbers and matching-colours with its Mist Grey bodyshell and red leather interior. According to Jaguar Heritage archives, this car is believed to have served as a show car, probably at the Paris Motor Show in 1958 or 1959. We have a complete and rare history: the last owner received the vehicle as a gift from his father in 1962 and has kept it ever since. Thanks to invoices and restoration documents, we can attest to its mileage, an exceptional feature for a car of this age.The car has always been maintained by professionals. In 1989, it was sent to England to a renowned specialist for a full restoration of the bodyshell and gearbox. Although this restoration dates back over 30 years, the current condition of the car testifies to the quality of the work. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2004 and has covered only around 20, 000 km since. Its road manners are impeccable. The red leather upholstery is original and shows a lovely patina. Only the dashboard and carpets have been recently restored (while preserving the original elements).A full service has just been carried out in our workshops, with no extra costs required to enjoy this superb XK.Dossier photos et vidéos disponible sur demande.
