Seller's comments about 1971' Jensen Ff

FOR SALE is my beautiful charismatic and rare Jensen FF. Only 325 worldwide made. Currently 38 roadworthy cars in the UK.

Registration 1 JVF has now been sold so car will revert back to original plate.

JENSEN MK11 model 127/297 in beautiful Aquamarine Blue. Manufactured in 1971 with trim interior of tan colour with beige carpets. This is as per the original car from the production line. It has not been painted another colour previous as some cars are. Sporting very rare and unusual period wolf race alloy wheels fitted from new . All the chrome in excellent shape and carrying ultra rare and original grill badge.

Kept by two owners for over 36 years ( total of 4 former keepers) and having a total restoration in the 1980s it has been used sparingly since. It has had the added benefit of £16,000 spent in the last few years to keep it ship-shape. (all invoices provided as well as MOT certs) The mileage of 80.900 is supported by these. All previous owners are documented. All in all a very original car that wears the colour superbly and is a sure fire long term investment. The MK11 was the more expensive model on manufacture. The MK1 was base price £6017 and the MK11 a whopping £7705 base price. Aston Martin chasing money.

As we know Jensen FF prices continue to rise as it is acknowledged that the car has a distinct place in history. Quentin Wilson is a huge fan of this manufacturer saying in 2017 the Interceptor is one of the top cars to buy. This is the Interceptors elder brother and don’t we know it. Rock Stars owned them, pub landlords wanted them.

Prices for these cars vary with the cheapest available car on the market (if still available) at £95,000. Concours cars and Hagerty values are £142,000. Please be aware this car whilst having plenty of work and upgrades over the years is not a concours car. Ideally it could do with a re-spray as can be evident in a few chips and blemishes. Please see photo of ding on the door. The engine bay needs detailing. There is also general wear as you can expect. Dealers call in Patina, I hate that word. Its a really good condition car that is ready to be used as it is, or taken to the next level.

A little about the Jensen FF

The Jensen FF was a four-wheel drive (4WD) Grand Tourer (GT) car produced by the British manufacturer Jensen Motors between 1966 and 1971. It was the first non all-terrain production car equipped with 4WD[1] and an anti-lock braking system — the Dunlop Maxaret mechanical system used hitherto only on aircraft, trucks, or racing cars. An experimental system was first fitted to a CV-8, based on the chassis of the Jensen 541S, but this did not go into production. The use of four-wheel drive preceded the successful Audi Quattro by many years.

The letters FF stand for Ferguson Formula, after Ferguson Research Ltd. who invented the car's four-wheel drive system. The FF was related to the similar-looking, rear-wheel drive, Jensen Interceptor, but is 127 mm (5.0 in) longer, and mechanically very different.

The FF may be distinguished from the Interceptor by a few styling cues, the most obvious being the twin (rather than single) diagonal air vents on the front wing, just behind of the front wheel-arches. The frontal appearance was revised in September 1968.

The car is available to view in North Yorkshire to certified purchasers. The car will not be shown unless you can prove you are serious. The car is located in a secure off-site garage.

The car will come with a fresh MOT and can be driven away or transport can be arranged. It will be taken off SORN and taxed.
