Seller's comments about 1976' Jensen Interceptor

The 1976 Jensen Interceptor III is a car full of character and history. We find the combination of design and engineering to be spectacular. In 1966, Jensen Motors in West Bromwich, England, introduced the Jensen Interceptor with its all-steel body, designed by the Italian design house Vignale. This was quite a change from the previous design, which used fiberglass-reinforced plastic. The Interceptor was equipped with a Chrysler V8 engine, starting with the 6. 3-liter, and featured disc brakes all around and a limited-slip differential.
In October 1969, the Series 2 was announced, with slightly modified styling on the grille, headlights, taillights, and a more modern interior with optional air conditioning. In 1971, the Series 3 was introduced, again with a different grille and headlights, new wheels, and air conditioning now standard. The engine was further enlarged to 7. 2 liters, making it a true powerhouse. Unfortunately, Jensen fell into a recession in 1975, and in 1976, production of the Interceptor came to an end. This is, of course, a shame, as it is undoubtedly an iconic car with a brand that had its own vision, a brand that thought differently.
This particular example, one of the last 100 Interceptor IIIs, was originally delivered to Canada in 1976. The car has been restored and overhauled in the past, with the body color repainted in a striking “Flag Red” shade. The paint is in neat condition, and the chrome parts, which appear to be original, have developed a beautiful patina, adding to the car’s authenticity. The rubber parts are partly used but still in neat condition. The interior of this Jensen is truly a sight to behold. The leather upholstery has developed a wonderful patina, enhancing the car’s authenticity. The dashboard is still neat and functional.
The engine, a Chrysler 440ci V8, runs smoothly and has a beautiful sound. This powerhouse provides an impressive driving experience, with the car feeling smooth and powerful. The Jensen Interceptor III is equipped with a Chrysler TorqueFlite automatic transmission, which shifts smoothly and properly. Thanks to specialist maintenance and the care of an enthusiast, this car drives as you would expect from such a classic. The suspension and chassis are well maintained, ensuring a comfortable and stable ride. In short, this 1976 Jensen Interceptor III is an impressive and authentic classic that will appeal to both collectors and enthusiasts. It is a car that not only represents a piece of automotive history, but is also ready to offer many more years of driving pleasure. We deliver this car with documentation that includes its history.
