When we hear “Miura”, we immediately think of the bull from Italy, the mid-engined sports car from Lamborghini. But there was another Miura and this one was made in Brazil. From the end of the seventies to the eighties, a plastic coupé was built on the basis of Volkswagen technology, which impressed with its sporty design and maintenance-friendly technology.
The Miura MTS was available as 1.3-, 1.6- and 1.8-liter, with or without a Targa roof. The technical description “central tubular frame, forked at the rear, with platform for the superstructure floor, front double crank arms with transverse torsion bar springs, rear independent wheel suspension with pendulum axle, trailing arms and transverse torsion bar springs, ...” clearly indicates the VW Beetle parts rack and was probably at the beginning of the eighties also not really “state of the art” anymore.
After all, the coupe with the most powerful engine (from the Brazilian Passat) is said to have reached 180 km / h. Has one of these vehicles ever been sold in our part of the world?
