Rare 1978 registered, professionally built Transformer HF2000 (same as Hawk but earlier). Built by the legendary Bob Pilot (RIP) of Courtney Garages in 1989, on a Spyder chassis and original round arch Group 4 body with Stradale interior. Correct instrument, Dino air vents and heat control etc, replica Strato’s seats with head rests in two tone leather. The original and unique tri-grey paint scheme sets the car apart.

Original 10.5inch/8 inch 3 piece Compomotive wheels now shod with Michelin TB15 tyres. There is a spare space-saver spare wheel under the front clam. Up front the car has group 4 indicators and correct repeaters, and correct Carello fog lights (which at as headlight flashers). At the rear there are the correct clear honeycomb rear fog light, and reversing light, rear lights/indicators, number plate light.

There is a correct Ferrero Strato’s steering wheel and X1/9 column controls. The car is built to production standards with over £25k spent on the build in 1989 (receipts in comprehensive history file). The dash is alcantara, and the doors are black flock with the trademark large pockets for the racing helmets. It is fully carpeted, as is the boot which is fitted with a gas strut support. It is Right Hand Drive but can easily converted to LHD (I have a new KPH speedo for the car).

The car is powered with an Alfa 164 V6 12v from a low mileage 1989 donor car (receipts in history file), 5 speed Hawk gear linkage, full rose jointed rear suspension, fully rose jointed front suspension, new GAZ coil-over damper units at the front and Leda rear shock absorbers (rebuilt and uprated in 2018) with camber adjustment. Brakes have been up-rated to 300mm ventilated AP Racing units with AP Racing 4 pot callipers front and back and dual master cylinder and balance bar with low brake fluid warning. There is a separate spot calliper parking brake (HiSpek) and a hydraulic handbrake (currently disconnected as not UK MOT legal). Fuel lines have been replaced and all the injectors rebuilt. The car starts and runs on the button. The water hoses have been replaced throughout with maintenance free black silicone hoses and clips. The exhaust system is custom made with free flowing manifolds and a delightfully loud megaphone. The exhaust is Zircotec ceramic coated, and there is a stainless steel heat shield above it

The fully adjustable geometry has been carefully set up including bump steer and corner weighting. It drives very nicely. The car has a current MOT (expires Feb 2020) and has only done 7,800 miles since the build in 1989. The V5 is in my name correctly stating Lancia 2000HF, updated to 3000cc engine and is registered historic so is tax free and does not require an MOT (although I give it one). I am the third owner of this fantastic machine since it was built, and over the last 4 years I have sorted it to drive like it should.

European purchasers need to check their registration requirements but as this car is over 30 years (donar over 40 years old) it should not be a problem.
