Seller's comments about 1937' Lancia Aprilia

Stunning looking car in light metallic blue, great drive for pre-war car and a fascinating history. First owner was a war hero who owned the car until 1995, second owner had much work done by John Savage in 2002 (27 point list of works), further extensive work by Omicron in 2007, in 2013/ 14 was prepared for classic rallying but never rallied – Auto Design did work at a cost of over £45k including conversion to 12 volts, new brake and fuel pipes, re-wiring including many new and additional switches, overhaul of gearbox and brakes, heater, reinforcement of underside and fitting a sump guard, new steering box and exhaust, roll cage and harness. Some of these features including roll cage and harness have since been removed but it continues to benefit from many of the enhancements. Current owner has, we understand, fitted new starter and overhauled brakes. Body and paint are very good as is interior, fitted with comfortable MX5 front seats, but original ones in excellent condition come with car. Stunning lines, once warm, it is a delight to drive with very direct steering, good brakes and independent suspension with extraordinary ride for the age, engine revs willingly and crash gearbox is a delight to use. Only 3 owners from new, comes with Instruction Book, workshop manual on CD, lots of history, photos and service details plus a few spares.
