Seller's comments about 1956' Land Rover Series 1

Land Rover, Series 1, 86" 1956 model, VKR381, registered in Kent, has had a sheltered life.

Having lived around Hearne, Kent till 1960, this Land Rover then moved to Thornton Heath, Surrey, then on to Crown Dale, London. Soon after, on the 6th May, 1965, it moved to Mayfield, Sussex when Mr B Beedell bought it for £150. The invoice is in the file.

It stayed in the family until it was removed from the Barn, where is had stayed since it was last on the road in the 1970s. The last MOT was issued 10th May 1974, it had covered 67, 788 miles.

Nicknamed Geraldine, after Mrs G Beedell, and not the famous vicar!

Now with only 69, 300 miles covered over the last few years the Land Rover has been recommissioned, trying to keep the character that VKR has earned over the years.

This Land Rover is a very genuine vehicle with its original unwelded chassis, and bulkhead along with its original 2 litre spread bore engine. Outside is all the original paint work, for some reason the interior has been painted Sand, this was a long time ago.

Recently had some work done on the engine: new exhaust pipe, new wiring loom, recon dynamo, new fuel pump, regulator. New tyres, and a new canvas.

The history file goes back to when it was first sold, with its original buff log book, over the 64 years it has had just 5 previous owner, recorded.

This delightful Land Rover has been recommissioned by the current owner, and is now ready to find a new owner that will care for it. A reliable vehicle and joy to drive.
