LAND ROVER SERIES 1 CHASSIS FRAME FOR AN 86"
This chassis was removed in the late 80's and has been in storage since.
The chassis is in good overall condition and would restore back to into good order for less than £500 in parts/materials. Plus Labour charge if being sent off for welding.
The chassis benefits from having NO accident damage and is still in its original state. No chassis sections have been cut out and replaced, there is only some old overplating. This Chassis is for a standard 86" Series 1
All top sections of the chassis are excellent Some plating required to O/S lower central rail region The N/S chassis rail is in good order O/S/F dumb iron requires some plating N/S/F dumb iron is still good order (totally original) Gearbox cross member has corroded. Cost for replacement part £44 Both bulkhead out riggers will require replacement. Cost £50 for O/S and £40 for N/S
The original rear X-member is still present but will need replacement only due to reason described below. The replacement cross member with spring hangars costs £330
**The chassis number is not included in the sale** For the provenance of the Land Rover this chassis came from, the spring hangar is being retained with it's chassis number clearly stamped in. (This 86" had a replacement chassis frame fitted in the late 80's)
No ID is being supplied with this chassis frame. It is being sold to assist another Land Rover owner restore their Series one. All chassis parts are readily available from Radfords. I can highly recommend the Radfords for quality chassis parts.
The owner has asked me to advertise it for sale. Payment is to be by BANK TRANSFER to Tony a fellow Series one Land Rover owner, OR "cash on collection".
The chassis frame is currently in storage 7 miles south of STRATFORD UPON AVON.
The price reflects it would cost £3480 to purchase a new chassis frame for a Series one and the fact this original chassis is easily repairable.
Nationwide delivery can be provided at a cost of £1.50+VAT per mile. Make enquiry for price as I need your location and will pass onto a known transport company.
The chassis frame has clearly been photo'd and described. All defects have been made clear.
Happy to answer any questions and can recommend a Land Rover workshop near Oxford (BESPOKE OFF ROAD) to carry out welding if you cannot weld or have the necessary welding equipment.
Addition photos can be sent over to you by request.
Important note - this is being sold for restoration and please be aware the N/S/R CORNER with chassis number has been removed, it is here and available for inspection, with chassis number starting with 471.....
