Seller's comments about 1959' Land Rover Series 2

For sale. Beautifully original 1959 Land Rover:

- Series 2
- 88 inch (SWB)
- 2. 25 litre petrol
- Free wheeling hubs
- Overdrive
- Excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. No work required.

This lovely vehicle is in superb mechanical order and benefits from retaining its original patina. As handsome as a fully restored and repainted Land Rover may be, this example looks magnificent just as it is! The Land Rover is ready to go, just in time for summer and those days out to the picnic spot, camp site or local pub.

I purchased the vehicle in October 2015, having commissioned Ben Stowe of Black Paw 4x4 to source the vehicle for me. Ben found the perfect 88, and all it needed was a good service, a new hood and some new wheels and tyres to replace the Defender items it had been wearing. Those interested in classic Land Rovers may have heard of Ben Stowe, who has won numerous awards for his restorations. Series Land Rovers are his speciality!

This Land Rover has what many would consider to be the perfect specification for a usable, yet collectable, Land Rover: 88 inch short wheel base chassis, two and a quarter litre original petrol engine, bronze green bodywork with canvas tilt, it is a matching numbers car, on its original chassis (in excellent condition), with free wheeling hubs and overdrive. It really is a pleasure to drive.

Fitted with new original pattern wheels, period-correct tyres and canvas in October 2015 when acquired.

Huge box of service history files, MOTs, insurance docs etc. Always dry stored in the garage. Only light use, no off-roading or trialling etc. (although it would soak this up easily!).

Last serviced in 2019 and will be serviced again by our local garage prior to sale. New distributor cap and rotor arm February 2021.

Any inspection welcome. This lovely vehicle won't disappoint. Priced to sell at £18, 500 (sensible offers may be considered)
