Seller's comments about 1952' Land Rover Series I

Land Rover Series 1 80" 1952 Soft Top
On offer is a nice example of a Series 1 80".
First Registered 11th August 1952. The vehicle till has its original gearbox and running gear including the original 2 litre petrol engine. The vehicle comes complete with its original number plate FUD 844.
FUD 844 has recently been recommissioned by ourselves, the work has included a new clutch, propshaft, full service, refurbished flywheel, repainted the wheels, new wheel cylinders, wheel bearings, hub seals and a full electrical inspection. The vehicle will come with a full 12 months mot, although the vehicle is now exempt and does not require one. The vehicle was owned by a long term Land Rover enthusiast who had many Series 1's. The vehicle is now ready to use and enjoy.
The rear tub unlike most Land Rovers is remarkably straight in the back and doesn't show any signs of hard use, rear bench seats can be fitted should the buyer wish.
Most original components have been reconditioned. When some parts were found to be beyond repair, original Land Rover new-old stock components were used.
ON THE ROAD
The engine busts into life on the turn of the key. It always starts first time and is a great runner. The vehicle really does pull very well and is a joy to drive.
With the canvas sides rolled up and the door tops off this vehicle really does draw some attention.
The vehicle has a 12 month MOT. It has a selectable four wheel drive gearbox.
The gears change up and down as they should the main box was checked over by a specialist and necessary parts replaced.
Almost all Series Land Rovers we have had drip a little oil, some quite a lot, this is the exception though no drips of oil to speak of even after standing for days in the same place.
SUMMARY
This is an fantastic example of a Series 1 restoration.
This is one of the best value for money 1952 80" we have ever had the opportunity to offer. This Land Rover has obviously been cared for and cherished by its previous owners. It is a fantastic example that requires no work and is ready to use and enjoy. T
If you are an investor then you will already know how these vehicles have appreciated over the last 5 years some doubling in value.
This a very honest 72 year old Series Land Rover. What you see is what you get it looks and drives exactly as it should. You will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle.
All in all, a lovely example of a 1952 Land Rover and we think it is really good value for money.
