Seller's comments about 1959' Land Rover Series II
Using the true definition of 'Barn Find', we are delighted to offer to market this unicorn of Series 2 Land Rovers. Remarkably, when we discovered this example it was in the barn of the original and only owner, making it such a rarity. Originally Grey with white hard top, the majority of the paint has literally worn away, leaving the car with an authentic bare aluminium shell. This however has revealed just how solid this 88 is, both in the body and underside. The cabin too presents as totally original, and even the jack and tools under the passenger outer seat are present! Starts on the button every time, with just a touch of choke, and drives great for a car that is 66 years old, with a first registration date of 30th November 1959. Notable features are the dial vent openers, only present on very early Series II cars, and the indicators mounted on the hard top sides. What would you do with it? Well, it would make a great restoration starting point given the 1 owner and low mileage, or I personally would simply fully service, some weekend work, a good clean, and a clearcoat to preserve it as it is.
