Maserati Merak comes from 1973 and was dedicated to the European market. As the car is from the beginning of production (starting in 1972), it is full of various flavors and lightness of the first copies. I know what I'm talking about because a few years ago I owned what was perhaps the only Maserati Merak SS in the world (1980) with only 1,300 miles from new. So I have a comparison and I know one thing - the Merak from the beginning of production is a different car than the one from the end - the beginning was in the period when Maserati was owned by Citroen, and the end of production was the time of De Tomaso. Therefore, the beginning of production, lightness, 3-liter V6 engine (for 3 double Webers and 190 HP) which is a development of the Citroen SM engine and clocks directly transferred from the French car. There is finesse and coolness in it. There's nothing like a French-Italian mix!!! I don't know about other models, but it all works in this one. What certainly distinguishes the first series from the rest is the hydraulics from Citroen responsible for the brakes, lights and steering. Merak arrived on its own wheels from France in 2015 and immediately went for renovation at Rzepecki Auto (apart from the engine), Pit Lane Arkuszowa 2A (engine). The renovation started in 2015, lasted several years and cost adequate to the quality. I saw a lot of them, although only 1,800 pieces were made, 600 in each version: SM Dashboard, SS and SS Bora Dashboard. I believe that this one takes first place in the renovation and configuration category! The proposed price of the car only partly compensates for the outlays incurred, but the car has been driven for a while and has given a lot of joy to the current owner, who used Merak on a daily basis. You can see how this Merak drives and sounds in the link below. I recommend it, because the price and condition really match!!!
