1971 MAZDA B1600 PICKUPIn 1971, the Mazda B-series (known domestically in Japan as the Proceed) was in its second generation. This year marked a significant transition as Mazda expanded the lineup with a more powerful engine and prepared for its first major entry into the North American market through a partnership with Ford. Introduced in January 1971, the 1600 Pickup featured a new 1. 6-litre inline-four engine producing approximately 95 horsepower. It retained the "BUD61" chassis and a square-body design with distinctive quad headlights. This rare South African import example runs and drives. The vendor reports a water leak - suspect requires a new core plug to rectify. This vehicle has been running & driving in the past 12 months. It will require some minor mechanical recommissioning. (Fresh battery, fresh petrol, possibly new plugs and leads etc)Presented in rust free and very clean condition complete with tonneau rear cover. The underside looks to be as clean as the body and the interior cabin is in fine condition as per photos. This represents a rare example to buy an original early 1970s right hand drive Japanese Pickup. This vehicle is located near Lutterworth, Leicestershire LE17 from where it will need to be collected.
