Seller's comments about 1956' Mercedes-Benz 190

Welcome to Oldie Point! We are constantly looking for classic cars and classic cars! We look forward to your offer! At the New York Motor Show in 1954, Mercedes-Benz presented the 190 SL for the first time - as an elegant, sporty roadster for a new, travel-loving customer. The vehicle was intended to bridge the gap between the thoroughbred 300 SL Gullwing and the brand's more comfortable sedans. With its clear lines, solid technology and the characteristic 1.9 liter four-cylinder engine with Solex twin carburettors, the 190 SL quickly became one of the most sought-after vehicles of the post-war period - especially on the American market. Just over 25,000 vehicles were built between 1955 and 1963. Many of them have been heavily modified over the decades or have not been professionally restored. It is all the more pleasing when a vehicle with a clearly comprehensible history and original substance can be offered. The 190 SL presented here was first registered in Austria on June 21, 1956 and was completely and very high-quality restored directly at Oldie Point a few years ago. The work was carried out to a high level of craftsmanship and meticulously documented, with a particular focus on value retention, originality and technical precision. Since its completion, the vehicle has been driven over a period of around four years and has only been driven just under 5,000 km - exclusively in good weather and mainly as part of vintage car trips and events. The car has "matching numbers", is historically typed (red badge) and is still in excellent condition - with appropriately maintained substance, reliable technology and a very well-preserved body. As a useful addition for regularity competitions, a Rallyemaster Professional from Prestel was installed. Technically, the car was regularly serviced, minor optimizations were carried out exclusively by specialist companies with classic car experience. A 190 SL that is rarely found today: authentic, high-quality restored, with a traceable history and ready for the next enthusiast - ideal as a stylish companion for classic car events or as a stable part of a collection.
