This is a reluctant sale of a very early Mercedes Benz W201 190E 2.0.
It has just received an extensive service (c.€2,000) from a classic Mercedes specialist including:
- oil change, oil filter, air filter
- new windscreen washer pump
- drivers window motor
- clutch master cylinder
- clutch slave cylinder
- front and rear brake pads replaced
- anti roll bar bushing kit
- wishbone front axle
- wishbone mounting kit
- strut mounts
- steering damper
- steering bushing
- wheel alignment
- heater motor
As a result this 190E drives&handles superbly. If you are looking for a German classic that can be used in confidence day to day, this is it! This 190E is happy to potter around town or effortlessly cruise at 80mph.
This is a high specification model with p/s, ABS, electric windows, mirrors&sunroof, original Blaupunkt stereo(with manual). It has full&virtually unmarked leather seats.
Original Mercedes floor carpet mats just cleaned&shampooed.
In terms of provenance it comes with a full and extensive service history which includes the original bill of sale from Germany, from where it was imported to the UK before coming to Ireland.
It has received 2 timing chain changes in its life.
However as this car is 34 years old it would now benefit from some cosmetic tidying.
The usual bubbling has begun on the front arches, some rust under the boot lid and some very superficial corrosion to some other areas. It is an extremely solid car though.
The dashboard also has the inevitable cracks, I have an immaculate replacement dash in the correct colour for the new owner.
There are of course cheaper 190's for sale but almost none will drive as brilliantly as this one&come with a full and correct service history. The W201 is the next classic Mercedes set to rapidly increase in value so now is the time to buy the really good examples.
