Seller's comments about 1962' Mercedes-Benz 220

The 1962 Mercedes-Benz 220 S offered by **** Garage belonged to the De Cordova family. We are in Bagheria, the City of Villas, in the splendid Sicily. The Marchesa Antonina, a noble figure born in Palermo in 1933, daughter of the Marquess Pietro De Cordova and the Baroness Antonina Mangiameli di Corleone, was the owner. This car received its first certificate of origin on 23 January 1962. On 6 April 1986 it was certified by ASI confirming it is of historical interest and it was registered under No. 6486. On 26 June of the same year the authoritative Marchesa, by force, opposed the office’s deregistration of her Mercedes-Benz 220S bearing the plate PA89034 at that time (caused by deregistration, perhaps some annual car taxes not paid). On 28 November 1986 the Ministry of Finance exempted the vehicle from paying car taxes. In 1992, on 30 December, cessation from circulation occurred and was noted on 9 February 1993. ASI certified a new Attestation of historical and collectible relevance for this four-wheeled lady exactly on 23 March 2017. On 19 May of the same year, the vehicle was re-admitted to circulation, passed its inspection, and was re-registered with plate FJ601GV. Displacement 2195cc, six-inline cylinders, top speed around 165 km/ h, manual gearbox. Colour medium blue, total six seats, of which three are in front. Only two owners, one of whom was the famous Marchesa. Completely restored by the current owner who *** an immeasurable passion and a will of steel managed to give a second life to this four-wheeled marvel, collecting testimonies and documents that attest to the truth of the story and the restoration in a book, which at first glance evokes a bygone era—the sixties—when people were simpler and more disposed to human contact.
