Seller's comments about 1957' Mercedes-Benz 220S Ponton

511181The 220 S Cabriolet was offered from July 1956. The production of the pontoon convertible in particular can be considered a successful development work, as it was the first time that Daimler-Benz had a self-supporting body without roof struts, which required an extremely stiff and therefore heavier floor assembly to avoid body torsion. The convertible was therefore 100 kg heavier than the four-door sedans, despite its shorter wheelbase and two doors. The 74 kW (100 hp) engine was retained unchanged. With this unit, the cars were attractively motorized. The interior is equipped with a fine wood dashboard and window surrounds, leather upholstery, heating and ventilation with a standing fan and clearly arranged round fittings. Subject to prior sale and errors. The vehicle description only serves to generally identify the vehicle and does not represent a warranty in the sense of sales law.
