The 1963 Geneva Motor Show marked the birth of the Mercedes 230 SL, commonly known as the Pagoda. Wonderful spider in Mercedes history was equipped with classic mechanics, but with a new 6-cylinder in-line engine and with the possibility of choosing automatic gearbox, as an alternative to the traditional manual one.
The car had decent performance, reaching 200 km/h and was equipped with an excellent braking system.
The design of the car was absolutely innovative compared to its previous model (the 190 SL) and was conceived to fascinate and conquer the US market as well.
The undisputed charm of the Pagoda is fully found in our car, even more enhanced by the elegance of the cream-colored combination of the bodywork with the tan leather interior.
A pleasant and pleasant car to drive, thanks to the automatic transmission, and with versatility of use, given the provision of its original hard top in body colour.
Intended for the US market, it was registered in 1965. Since 2015 the car has been registered in Italy, where it is still located.
It is in excellent aesthetic condition and has been maintained and rotated periodically by our workshop since 2016.
The car can be viewed exclusively by appointment in our office. Thanks to our technical assistance and restoration workshop it is possible to inspect it with our professionals, who will be able to provide any technical details.
