Leaving Germany in July 1967 this W108 250 S was supplied brand new to Japan, residing on the salt-free roads there until very recently. The car has just been imported by 4 Star and is currently undergoing preparation with a renowned Mercedes specialist prior to sale.
Finished in White Grey the Mercedes boasts striking red upholstery and carpet, with smart wood trim adorning the fascia. This right-hand drive example was specified with an electric sliding sunroof and middle front seat cushion for a third front passenger. It is also equipped with air conditioning, a period Sanyo radio, and stacked front headlamps with beehive indicators.
This particular 250 S Saloon was special ordered new by the Western Automobile Co. Ltd. of Tokyo, the greater Tokyo and Yokohama authorized Mercedes-Benz agent at the time. The engine bay features an additional Japanese VIN plate as evidence of this. Recent correspondence from Mercedes-Benz confirms the car to be a matching-numbers example.
