They were similar in quality and price to the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud and the Bentley S1, but far superior in performance. They became known as Adenauer, due to the fact that the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Konrad Adenauer, requested six for his service. Strange as it may seem, they shared several innovations and mechanical components with the iconic 300 SL Gullwing”
