The car has some service history, a hard and soft top roof and is finished in metallic Silver. As this is an early car it has the Mercedes colour coded hub caps (Pagoda style) which set the classic looks off far better than the 80's turbine type alloys seen far too commonly on these cars.

Tax and MOT exempt as the car is now 43 years old so there are a few age related marks, but this is far from a project car. It is a perfectly useable classic ready for the weekend.

These cars designed in the 60's flower power era were the epitome of the 70's and 80's financial boom, they were reliable and cheap to own in the main as many components were shared with the everyday saloon cars which are now million mile taxis used in third world countries. Common and everywhere for very good reason 237,300 were produced and scattered around the globe in their 18 year reign and deservingly so. They are too good to just be driven by the lady in your life. The only 2 seater sports cars to surpass them in popularity were the much cheaper MGB and Mazda MX-5.

Beware of rusty cars with bulkhead problems, this car is fine but rotten ones are normally a write off. Also beware of over priced cars from a certain English 'specialist', this car is priced sensibly to compete with the US imported rust free ones at the correct price for a quick sale.

As you are a fan of the SL you will probably be aware that the line is being discontinued due to poor sales and an astronomically high list price. This can only mean that all ages of SL will increase in value in the future as the cars become rarer.
