Seller's comments about 1974' Mercedes-Benz 450 Scl
Probably the most iconic model from Mercedes, the ‘SL’ (lightweight sport) has been associated with the most desirable sports cars since 1954 with the legendary 300SL. After the glorious 280SL Pagoda, it was time for the R107 to take over. The SLC (dubbed the C107) is the coupé version of the R107 SL Roadster and is essentially the same apart from the extended wheelbase made to accommodate two rear seats and the fixed steel roof that offered more headroom. Powered by a fuel injected 4. 5L V8, the 450 SLC produced a smooth 197BHP that will take you to any destination in absolute comfort. Finished in a beautiful Metallic Red 571 over its original Parchment Leather interior, our 450 SLC is factory fitted with alloy wheels and an electric sunroof as mentioned on the original build sheet. Having had only 4 previous owners and covered a mere 28, 700 miles, the car comes with a full-service history. Subject to a £23, 000 recommission in 2011, it had only done 1, 000 miles between 1984 and 2010. A truly lovely example to drive and to look at. This is by some consideration the best 107 (both SL and SLC) that we have ever had the pleasure of offering. Unlike most SLCs we have encountered of late, all the usual pitfalls of these cars are not present on this particular car for example, to unobtanium sealed C post louvres, bulkhead, sunroof aperture etc. are in pristine condition The car passed its previous MOT with flying colours. The last full, carte blanche service was carried out by R107 wizards Roger Edwards Motors in February 2020. They also fitted the car with new brake and fuel hoses but remarked that the car wanted for nothing else and was arguably one of the best they had ever seen. In addition to this, the car has recently been serviced as well as received a full alignment by Mercedes-Benz of Guilford. As with all of our vehicles, we have a digital folder available on request containing more images, walkaround videos, pictures of the underside and scans of the service history. The car can be viewed by appointment at our West London showroom.
