The Mercedes-Benz 600 (W 100) has been wowing audiences and experts since its premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt. In September 1963, it opened the door to a new dimension of motoring. The Mercedes 600 (W100) was the first passenger car in Mercedes-Benz history to be powered by a fuel-injected V8 engine. The top speed of the "Großer Mercedes" was well over 200 km/h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h took only 10 seconds. It was equipped with shock absorbers adjustable while driving, a dual-circuit braking system with air assistance, disc brakes on all wheels, air suspension, power steering, central locking, electronically controlled heating and ventilation system. Mercedes-Benz offered the 600 W100 in a short and long wheelbase sedan body. The latter was called Pullman or Pullman-Landaulet. A total of 2,667 examples were built in the vehicle's 17 years of production.
