Seller's comments about 1960' Mercedes-Benz Klasa S

My beautiful 1960 Mercedes 220S W111 sedan is at the auction. It is a car of excellent quality, which received both exterior paintwork, a renewed interior and the upper part of the engine. Although it is not a fully restored car,

The Mercedes still impresses with its condition and classic appearance. This particular car had a great ownership history, Bought new in Germany in 1960 for the US Embassy Corps in Rome, used by a Colonel stationed at the US Embassy in Italy

This car still has the original bill of sale and German Euro delivery registration, (original 1960s black plates still on the car)

Soon after it was brought to the United States and kept in the colonel's care until 1988, when the car was sold to another colonel in the armed forces stationed in the San Francisco Bay area where the car was in the colonel's collection.

Since March 2016, I am the first owner of the vehicle in Poland, the car is registered with yellow plates.

I have all the service and repair documentation from the last 27 years, including repainting and rebuilding the top-class engine and carburetor. The car drives great. The engine has smooth power delivery and the car easily travels 70mph on the highway.

The 4-speed column moves smoothly, without any grinding or funny gear noise. The car drives quietly, with no weird vibrations or moans. The brake servo has recently been rebuilt and the car stops fine and straight. All dashboard gauges and controls work,

All doors close effortlessly with a solid click.

It has 2 original sets of keys

The interior is finished in a Euro-market pattern fabric and fits very well with the ivory color of the exterior. The seats are comfortable and well cushioned. The seat belts are made from marine or airline grade parts and are in excellent condition.

The bottom of the car looks solid and dry.

This is a great example of a fintail style Mercedes W111 with a good history / documentation to enjoy right away and drive until the values rise enough to warrant another restoration.

As fintail prices are just beginning to rise, this is the perfect time to buy a car like this
