Seller's comments about 1957' Mercedes-Benz Sl-190
The 190 SL is a two-door luxury roadster produced by Mercedes-Benz between May 1955 and February 1963. Internally referred to as the W121, it was first shown in prototype at the 1954 New York Auto Show and presented an attractive alternative. to the exclusive Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, sharing its basic style, mechanics and fully independent suspension. Both cars had double wishbones at the front and swing axles at the rear.
The 190 SL was powered by a new engine at the time, the SOHC type M121 BII 1.9 L and four cylinders in line with 104 horsepower. The car was available as a convertible with a soft top or with a removable hard top. A small transverse seat for the third passenger was an option and is present in this unit.
This extraordinary car is in very good condition and was sold new in Portugal.
