Seller's comments about 1968' Mercedes-Benz Sl-280
National in impeccable condition. Completely revised in every detail. Power steering and manual gearbox. Blaupunkt source telephony. “Matching numbers”. Hardtop. “The Mercedes W113 were presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1963. They replaced the 300 SL and 190 SL. Designed by Paul Bracq and Béla Barényi, with the characteristic concave hardtop, which quickly earned them the nickname of Pagode. With various aluminum body parts, a great suspension, powerful brakes and for the first time for Mercedes-Benz, radial tyres, they handled excellently on the road. In the 280 SL version, presented in December 1967, the “Pagode” reached the peak of its development, with increased power and several technical improvements. Today, they are the most valuable and sought-after version by collectors.”
