Seller's comments about 1964' Mercedes-Benz Sl Class
Advertising on behalf of a customer this 1964 Mercedes W113 230SL commonly known as a Pagoda. This car is an unfinished project and will require work as detailed in the description below. Its fully UK registered and we have the V5 here showing 1 UK owner. prior to that it was overseas, we think in Germany. There is a dating certificate from Mercedes Benz with the car and a NOVA Certificate showing all Import tax and duty was paid.
Body - The car looks solid with no signs of any rust bubbling on outer panels. Underneath the floors look solid. Looks like its had sills replaced. There is evidence of a couple of older repairs on the inner wings areas. Paintwork looks to have been redone at some point but not recently. Most of it is presentable but there a crack on the drivers door edge consistent with it being opened too far. Looks like an older restoration. This car could be taken forward and put on the road as it is but to do it right you be looking at a full strip down and redo it.
Mechanics - The car is a non runner and we have not tried to do anything with it as it belongs to the customer. Its missing the radiator, fuel tank and exhaust although there are replacement exhaust parts in the boot.
Interior - New seat covers sitting over the old ones which need fitted properly. Everything is there but will need all redone.
Wheels - Original steels and chrome trims. Some of the trims are missing there locating lugs.
