1979 Mercedes Benz 450 SLC Automatic. Astral Silver with Anthracite Velour upholstery. Supplied new in August 1979 by Simpsons Mercedes this C107 series has covered just 73, 000 miles from new. Accompanying the car is a comprehensive history file containing the original stamped service book, original manuals and a large portfolio of bills, invoices and old mots confirming the low mileage and a full set of photographs documenting the cosmetic restoration which was carried out in 2017 and it presents and drives superbly. It featured on the front cover of Mercedes Enthusiasts magazine in July 2022 along with 3 page road test and pictures. It received a rave review from road test etc. Copies in the history. With standard equipment including all electric windows x4, central locking, power steering & ABS. The SLC model was based on a lengthened version of the chassis from the R107 SL. Introduced in 1971 as the replacement to the W111 coupe it continued in production until 1981 when the S Class C126, better known as the SEC model, replaced it. A total number of 62, 888 SLC models were produced, with this model numbering just 31739. It has the optioned electric steel sunroof, metallic paint, 14” Bundt light alloy wheels with four new period correct tread tyres, a re trimmed in OEM (new old stock) interior trim, and seat belt feeders. A recent addition is the fitment of a Blaupunkt CD/ radio with full Bluetooth connectivity. All of the ceramic electrical fuses have been replaced, & new front fog lamps & their brackets. The C107 models have been steadily appreciating in value during the past few years, especially cars of this standard. Although now mot and tax exempt a fresh mot will be applied upon sale for your own peace of mind. Being that this superb example is in excess of 40 years old it also benefits from being ULEZ exempt. This C107 450SLC is probably one of the best examples to be found and will grace any private collection or showground. Absolutely any inspection welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted.
