About the model: With the W110 model, Mercedes succumbed to American fashion. The simple, yet elegant line finished with small fins on the rear fenders was quite controversial for a Mercedes, but it must be admitted that it was quite interesting. A series of mid-high class passenger cars, produced by the German company Mercedes-Benz in the years 1961-68. It was the first Mercedes model to undergo extensive crash testing. The W110 series was launched in April 1961 and replaced the W120 and W121 models.
This model was quite groundbreaking in general. It was in the 110 that first crumple zones were used, as well as a two-speed braking system and brake discs on the front wheels. And as an additional option, power steering could be ordered.
