Seller's comments about 1968' Mercury Colony Park Station
Good morning.
The subject of the announcement is the sale of a collector's vehicle: 1968 Mercury Colony Park Station Wagon. I am the second owner of the vehicle, and the first in Poland. The car was imported from sunny Georgia from the first owner, who bought the car on September 6, 1968.
The car is certainly unique, and the solutions introduced in it will be appreciated by many automotive connoisseurs. The car has interesting solutions, including: lap seat belts with the option of additional fastening over the shoulder, electrically lowered rear window, trunk lid that can be opened sideways or down, and seats in the trunk positioned along the driving path. Additionally, using foldable sofas, we can quickly rearrange the passenger area into a cargo area.
Current vehicle condition:
The bodywork is in very good condition and has a beautiful patina. The original paint coating and the original, sun-baked wood veneer create a unique atmosphere. Of course, it has dents and scratches collected over 55 years. None of the body elements have any traces of bodywork or paint repairs. The chassis is also in very good condition, after inspection and necessary bodywork repairs, it has been protected against corrosion. The frame is straight and corrosion-free.
The interior looks beautiful. The original upholstery does not have any abrasions or holes, the springs and sponges in the sofas are not collapsed. The dashboard is fully original, all equipment is in working order, including the original radio. Inside the vehicle, only the headliner and floor covering were replaced, and new soundproofing was also installed.
Technically, the car is in very good condition. All components such as the braking system, drive system, suspension, etc. have undergone full verification. Any parts that showed wear were replaced. The engine has undergone a complete overhaul, i.e. new gaskets, bushings, timing, carburetor, etc. The car passed the technical inspection without any problems.
A few additional details were added to the car, namely: it received pins (@dixon_pinstriping), chrome engine accessories + silicones, the suspension was lowered, and new U.S.Wheels smoothie rims were installed along with new GT tires.
I roughly described the condition of the car, due to the two most frequently asked questions, I answer:
