Classic Car Design offers you this « immense » Mercury Marauder from 1964. A true rarity in France. A flagship NASCAR racing model in its time. This specimen has been completely restored from the chassis a few years ago and partly by the mechanic of a French specialist in collectible cars.Externally, this pillarless coupé has been painted in a lightly metallic orange, the glitter flakes appear discreetly in bright sunlight. This immense coachwork is adorned with numerous wheel covers; all are present and in good condition. The wheels, painted black, are covered with Ford hubcaps that are more stylish than the original ones, which are nevertheless available. The car presents very well, even if a few finishes could still improve it.Inside, the cabin is very spacious and there are two wide benches. The whole interior is in excellent condition, whether the seats, panels, carpets or headlining. The imposing dashboard is also well stocked with hubcaps and instruments, though the gauge cluster will need attention. The handsome tulip-style sport steering wheel also comes from the Ford family.Mechanically, this Mercury is equipped with a V8 big block 390ci, quite expressive thanks to its twin exhaust with remotely controlled cut-outs. This 6. 4L has been completely rebuilt and reinstalled with some fine performance parts such as forged Speed Pro pistons, Performer RPM heads with roller rocker arms and an Edelbrock intake, 4/ 1 exhaust headers, a 7L Milodon oil pan with HP pump, a set of pulleys and an aluminium radiator… The original running gear, renovated, benefits from 4 ventilated and assisted discs.
