Here for sale is my 1967 MGB GT 1800cc. I have renovated the car over the last six months to bring her up to a high standard. The car was completely restored in 2012 by the previous owner. This was originally a California car that was imported into the UK in 1991as part of a collection. It was then professionally converted to RHD with no expense spared. I have tried to keep the car as original as possible, and I hope you agree she looks stunning!
Bodywork – Finished in old English white the body is in great condition with no dents or obvious scratches. Having been stripped to bare metal in 2012 it was then fully resprayed. It has undoubtedly been touched up over the last 9 years, but you can only tell by looking very closely. The paintwork is not as new but is far to good to justify a respray. After the 2012 restoration the car was professionally waxoyl to preserve her for the future. No rust is present, and the car looks straight and great. The car is finished off with beautiful wire wheels that have been completely refurbished. These are dressed with very rare 3 lug spinners.
Interior – The pictures speak for themselves however this really is a nice place to sit. Seats are in fantastic condition as is the dashboard, centre console, carpets, and door cards. I have added new LED bulbs to the all the dials so you can see them in the dark now! Everything works as it should. Very rare and original banjo style steering wheel finishes the look. I think the interior is one of the best I have ever seen.
Engine – The engine is brand new supplied by Ivor Searle. I have just had it set up on the Dyno at 3500RPM with s smooth increase line. A new electronic ignition and HT leads have been added. Finished off with a full service. Starts on the button and the drive is epic. Will want setting up again on the rolling road once 500 miles has been run in. The engine benefits from overdrive which is epic on long drives.
History – Lots of old receipts, MOT certificates and various notes of history. California licence, BMI Heritage Trust certificate, Waxoyl certificate. Car is MOT and Tax exempt. Full 12 months MOT. Original owner’s handbook, MGB manuals and two sets of keys are available. The car also comes with a full tool kit and spinner knocker hammer.
Summary – If you are looking for a grand tourer that can be a daily driver, looks great, drives superb and turns heads this should be a car you view. These models are becoming rarer by the day. In fact - details above reports that only 55 survive in the UK! This can only mean that it is only ever going to go up in price.
