Seller's comments about 1968' MG MGC Gt

An original UK, RHD Car, built in January 1968 and 1st delivered to a Belfast dealer in March 1968. This car was purchased by me in November 2013 through an advert on the MG Car Club web site.
Prior to my purchase the body had undergone a restoration by a previous owner, a professional body work specialist in approximately 2010/11 and painted in its original colour of Tartan Red. At this time it was given a Sebring look with front and rear panels and a Le Mans Style fuel filler in the Offside rear wing as per works cars. Stainless steel twin pipe exhaust system, high torque starter motor, electronic ignition.
Since purchasing the car I have completed extensive works as follows: -
Replace non-overdrive gearbox with overdrive and works style overdrive switch mounted on the gearlever.
Replace incorrect steel bonnet with aluminium together with carbon fibre bonnet stay.
Lighten flywheel and fit competition AP clutch. Fit new radiator and six branch Maniflow free flow exhaust manifold. Inspection of the cylinder head at this time showed evidence of gas flowed ports. New clutch master cylinder, metal braided oil cooler hoses. This work being performed by JME Healeys in Warwick.
Front suspension rebuilt using Superflex Polyurethane bushes, new kingpins and bushes, Gaz adjustable shock absorbers Uprated torsion bars, ¾ roll bar with new locating clamps. All new pins, wheel bearings and front splined hubs. Metal braided front brake hoses. New discs, and EBC brake pads.
Rear suspension Gaz adjustable shock absorbers.
Lumentition ignition cables.
New clutch slave cylinder, plastic battery bins, K&N Oil filter conversion using spin on oil canister. Recent twin electric Revotec electric fan kit.
Lights have been fitted with relays and modern fuses, engine
Interior has bespoke Ridgard seats, Brantz fully calibrated trip meter with twin readout. (Model accepted by HRCR, i.e. No average speed read out) Leather rimmed Moto Lita steering wheel.
Any foibles known in the “C” truly eliminated, hence a car that drives so much better than Abingdon managed in 1960′s & incorporating all that has been learnt from years of success in Motorsport.
Ideally suited for both Regularity events or scenic tours.
MOT’S are present going back to 1983 indicating that the recorded mileage of 87892 may well be accurate. No expense has been spared in bringing this car to its current standard and maintaining it.
A simply superb driver’s car, very rare in this guise & an investment for the future, clearly fast appreciating, the MGC GT and considered by many as to be a “Sleeper” for a while. Waking now as a car expected to see values rise further.
The car has just passed a new MOT with no advisories.
The car comes with its original leather front and rear seats.
