Chassis - details above. This is a matching numbers example.

This left hand drive TF Type MG Midget is believed to have been delivered new to Belgium via Garage G. Rensonnet in Verviers, as evidenced by a plate fixed to the right rear wing.

Recently acquired from a significant & discerning collector of classic vehicles.

Finished in gleaming red with black leather interior, the MG Midget TF Roadster LHD has been restored a few years ago, presents well and is in a very good condition throughout with a lightly patinated interior. The wheels are all recently powder coated

The XPAG Engine starts easily and pulls well. The gearbox is easy to use and the car is a pleasure to drive.

A full hood and side screen set comes with the car,for inclement conditions.

All in all, a lovely period MG, ready for summer motoring.

Included in the sale is a workshop manual and parts catalogue, and the MG Midget TF Roadster LHD also comes with sundry maintenance invoices, old Belgian registration papers and a FIVA Identity Card (2004).

The charismatic T-Series MG Midget is popular now among enthusiasts of traditional British sports cars as it was in its heyday. A rushed development programme meant that there was little, mechanically at least, difference between the TF and the outgoing TD II, the 1,250cc, 57bhp, XPAG engine of which was retained. Essentially a restyled version of the latter, the TF retained its predecessor's body centre section but featured a changed front end with a shortened, sloping, radiator grille and headlamps faired into the wings, plus an improved interior with separately adjustable seats. A stopgap model produced pending the arrival of the MGA, the traditionally styled TF nevertheless sold well, 9,600 units being produced between October 1953 and May 1955.
