Seller's comments about 1947' MG T-Type

We are very pleased to offer for sale this lovely, matching numbers TC, which has been in the current ownership for 15 years, the previous owner – an ex-Austin apprentice – having owned the car for some 40 years before that. The car was rebuilt in the late 1980s – body off, chassis shot-blasted, wood replaced as necessary, a full repaint throughout and overhaul of the suspension including the fitting of telescopic front shockers. The engine was rebuilt with balanced crank, flywheel and twin 1½” SUs. The car has been well maintained throughout its life and is in good working order, with good performance (see videos) and improved steering from its VW steering box. Recently, it has been fitted with a George Edney improved cylinder head, resulting in excellent performance, and we understand, now giving out 70bhp. In addition, the brake master cylinder and all four wheel cylinders have recently been replaced, as have both the rear leaf springs. The interior of the car has a lovely patina and the seats, which have obviously been renovated at some stage, are believed to be the originals and are in very nice condition. The dashboard has been treated to a full face-lift and a quality Brooklands steering wheel has been fitted. The wheels and tyres are excellent, the underside is good and clean and tidy, as is the engine bay. The vinyl hood, side screens and tonneau are all in good, usable condition.
