Seller's comments about 1948' MG TC
TC5422, build on May 6, 1948.
The TC is very original. I did the next concessions:
-1,2,3 electronic ignition, in original distributor housing.
-Improved bronze break master and secondary cylinders.
-Larger diameter exhaust pipe stainless steel for perfect , not to loud, low frequency roar and a better flow.
-VW steering house. The original is included with the car, partially overhauled.
-Blockley tires, because it looks good.
-I took out the webbing of the back lean because of my long legs. Webbing is included in the sale.
Original Marshall Nordec supercharger.
These superchargers were used as cabin pressure blowers for airplanes in the past but the Bentley boys started experimenting with them in the twenties to increase the pressure of the mixture and gain power.
With the installed pulley ratio, the pressure is till 3 PSI max.
This way the engine is kept in perfect shape.
The supercharger still has his original drip oiler on top with viewing glass and a Jaeger Vacuum Pressure gauge is on the dashboard.
The serial number and production date are difficult to catch on the picture but it tells the next:
-Type J75
-Style 19
-V5 883
-Serial nr: 6356
-Production date: 16/4/48
The supercharger was build April 16, 1948. So probably installed at the factory or just after it left the factory. Look at the original Advertising on the enclosed pictures.
Original Nordec logo at the back of the petrol tank.
Never seen this item on another car.
Side screens almost new.
Second spare wheel with extended spare wheel spinner, included in the sale.
During the last years I renewed the wheels and wheel bearings, breaks and increased the capacity of the radiator. Never had any cooling problems. Also the total wiring loom has been renewed last year. This car has silicon break fluid. The engine has been overhauled in 2008. After that it ran 8500 miles.
If you open the hood, you will always receive lots of attention and great appreciations.
